- THE DRIVE THAT CONTAINS THE YOUART1 PROGRAM AND FILES.
- TYPE IN YA2 TO EXECUTE THE PROGRAM.

- ALWAYS THE CHANCE THE PAINT WILL SPILL OUT OF
- THE OBJECT YOU WANT TO PAINT AND RUIN THE REST
- OF YOUR DRAWING. IF YOU PAINT INSIDE OF A BOX
- OR A CIRCLE YOU HAVE JUST DRAWN, THE PAINT
- WILL NOT SPILL OUT. IF YOU HAVE DRAWN
- SOMETHING WITH THE DIAGONAL CURSOR DOTS OR
- WITH THE DOT GRAPHIC MODE, THERE IS A
- POSSIBILITY THERE CAN BE A GAP IN THE BORDER.
- A GAP AS SMALL AS A MISSING DOT WILL CAUSE THE
- PAINT TO SPILL. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE, SAVE IT
- FIRST.

- WORKING WITH PATTERNS:
- A PATTERN CAN BE ANYTHING THAT HAS BEEN LETTERED OR
- DRAWN ON THE SCREEN. THIS PATTERN CAN BE SAVED TO
- DISK, FOR USE LATER IN OTHER DRAWINGS. THIS PATTERN
- CAN BE MOVED AROUND THE SCREEN, OR DUPLICATED, SAVING
- THE AMOUNT OF TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A DRAWING. THE
- PATTERN IS LIMITED TO ONLY ONE THING, THE SIZE. THE
- MAXIMUM SIZE OF THE PATTERN IS 1/4 OF THE SCREEN.

- CAPTURING A PATTERN:
- TO CAPTURE A PATTERN, YOU WILL DRAW AN IMAGINARY BOX
- AROUND IT. MOVE THE CURSOR DOT TO ONE CORNER OF YOUR
- IMAGINARY BOX. WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE Alt KEY, PRESS
- THE S KEY. THE PROMPT LINE WILL SHOW (START PATTERN).
- MOVE THE CURSOR DOT TO THE DIAGONALLY OPPOSITE CORNER
- OF YOUR IMAGINARY BOX. WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE Alt KEY,
- PRESS THE F KEY. THE PROMPT LINE WILL SHOW (PATTERN
- HAS BEEN SET!), IF EVERYTHING IS OK. THE PROMPT LINE
- WILL SHOW (PATTERN TOO LARGE!), IF THE PATTERN IS TOO
- LARGE TO FIT IN THE PATTERN ARRAY. IF THIS HAPPENS,
- YOU MAY HAVE TO DIVIDE THE PATTERN.

- SAVING A PATTERN TO DISK:
- ONCE A PATTERN HAS BEEN CAPTURED, IT CAN BE SAVED TO
- DISK. WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE Ctrl KEY, PRESS THE F4
- KEY. YOU WILL BE PROMPTED FOR THE PATTERN NAME (SAVE
- PATTERN). RESPOND WITH THE DRIVE DESIGNATION, IF OTHER
- THAN THE DEFAULT DRIVE, AND THE PATTERN NAME (WITHOUT
- A FILE EXTENTION). PRESS THE / KEY TO SAVE THE
- PATTERN.
- THIS FUNCTION CREATES A FILE ON THE DRIVE YOU
- DESIGNATE. THE FILE WILL HAVE THE NAME YOU ASSIGN WITH
- THE FILE EXTENTION OF (.PAT).

- LOADING A PATTERN FROM DISK:
- ANY PATTERN YOU HAVE CREATED AND SAVED TO DISK, CAN BE
- LOADED INTO THE PATTERN ARRAY. WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE

- DRIVE DESIGNATION, IF OTHER THAT THE DEFAULT DRIVE,
- AND THE PATTERN NAME (WITHOUT A FILE EXTENTION). PRESS
- THE / KEY TO LOAD THE PATTERN.

- MANIPULATION OF PATTERNS:
- ONCE A PATTERN HAS EITHER BEEN CAPTURED, OR LOADED
- FROM DISK, IT CAN BE MANIPULATED ON THE SCREEN. MOVE
- THE CURSOR DOT TO THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE AREA
- WHERE YOU WANT TO PLACE THE PATTERN (REMEMBER WHEN WE
- CAPTURED THE PATTERN WE DREW AN IMAGINARY BOX AROUND
- IT. THE BOX THEORY STILL APPLIES). WHEN THE PATTERN IS
- PLACED ON THE SCREEN, IT APPEARS DOWN AND TO THE RIGHT
- FROM THE CURSOR DOT.

- LOGICAL XOR - NON DESTRUCTIVE OVERLAY:
- WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE Alt KEY, PRESS THE P
- KEY. THE PATTERN WILL OVERLAY ANYTHING ALREADY
- ON THE SCREEN WITHOUT DESTROYING IT. IF YOU
- DON'T LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS, YOU CAN REPEAT
- THIS FUNCTION, AND THE PATTERN WILL BE
- REMOVED. WHATEVER THE PATTERN HAD OVERLAYED
- WILL RETURN TO NORMAL.

- LOGICAL AND - DESTRUCTIVE OVERLAY:
- WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE Alt KEY, PRESS THE I
- KEY. THE PATTERN WILL REPLACE ANYTHING ALREADY
- ON THE SCREEN. REPEATING THE FUNCTION WILL NOT
- RESTORE THE SCREEN.

- LOGICAL OR - DESTRUCTIVE OVERLAY:
- WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE Alt KEY, PRESS THE O
- KEY. THE PATTERN WILL OVERLAY WHATEVER WAS
- ALREADY ON THE SCREEN. REPEATING THE FUNCTION
- WILL NOT RESTORE THE SCREEN.

- NOTE--- YOU CAN USE A (LOGICAL XOR) TO REMOVE A
- (LOGICAL AND) AND A (LOGICAL OR), HOWEVER THE
- DESTRUCTIVE EFFECTS WILL STILL REMAIN. IT WILL
- NOT REPAIR THESE EFFECTS.
- NOTE--- IF YOU GET THE ERROR MESSAGE (NOT ENOUGH ROOM
- FOR PATTER TO FIT!!), THIS MEANS CURSOR DOT IS

- PICTURE HAVE THE FILE EXTENTION (.PIC). THESE PICTURES ARE
- DISPLAYED IN HIGH RESOLUTION GRAPHICS MODE. PICTURES CREATED
